Q: Will Gwinnett County and Snellville keep the microtransit buses to take people around?
RALPH RHYNE, SNELLVILLE
A: The microtransit pilot ends April 30, but the county plans to bring the service back, Heather Sawyer, Gwinnett's deputy communications director, told Q&A on the News.
“However, we will first need to procure the vehicles and evaluate the technology,” she wrote in an email. “Our hope is to bring the service back to Snellville sometime in 2020.”
The program, which offers door-to-door bus service via real-time scheduling, began in September as a six-month pilot in an area of Snellville and was been extended until the end of this month, the AJC previously reported.
