Q: Can you tell me if the bully at Parkview High School will or won’t be prosecuted for hitting the other student?

—Marion Webb, Austell

A: The student who allegedly beat fellow Parkview student David Egan has been charged with aggravated battery and the case will be prosecuted in Gwinnett County Juvenile Court, district attorney Danny Porter told Q&A on the News in an email. "Since those proceedings are closed, I can't comment on the status or the disposition," Porter wrote. The student also has been disciplined by the school. Egan, a sophomore, had surgery for injuries to his face and nose after the incident, which took place in a school locker room on March 25. "He punched him so hard on the top of his nose, that it actually broke the nose away from the skull," David Egan's father, Danny Egan, told WSB-TV. "He's got metal plates under the eyes. Obviously under the skin, you can't see it. He's got metal plates and metal wiring. I mean it's a really bad impact." The incident was caught on cell phone video.

Q: Who does the wonderful landscaping at the Augusta National Golf Club? Also, do the greens keepers work directly for the club or are they private contractors? How much are they paid?

—William McKee Jr., Flowery Branch

A: Augusta National Golf employs a nursery staff that maintains the flowers, trees and ornamental plantings throughout the property. The club's grounds crew maintains the turf and other areas of the course, club spokesman Steve Ethun told Q&A on the News in an email. He wouldn't disclose the employees' salaries.
