Of the 19 high schools in the Fulton County School District, eight are included in U.S. News and World Report's rankings of the nation's best public schools

The annual rankings measure schools in four major categories: student-teacher ratio, college readiness, math proficiency and English proficiency.

Milton High School is Fulton County's top-raked school (ranked No. 6 in the state) with a college readiness score of 69.6, mathematics score of 3.1 and a reading score of 3.6 -- all above average for Georgia.

Northview High School (ranked No. 8 in the state) and Johns Creek High School (ranked No. 9 in the state) are the second- and third-best high schools in Fulton County, respectively.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has also compiled the most recent educational data in several important categories for these schools and nearly every Georgia public high school, including graduation rates, average SAT scores and more.

Milton High School

• 2014 average SAT scores: 1654
• 2014 graduation rate: 91.2
• Percentage of students in 2013-14 who took an AP class: 40.3
• Percentage of students who qualified for HOPE: 65.6

Northview High School 

• 2014 average SAT scores: 1779
• 2014 graduation rate: 96.2
• Percentage of students in 2013-14 who took an AP class: 35.8
• Percentage of students who qualified for HOPE: 79.09

Johns Creek High School

• 2014 average SAT scores: 1691
• 2014 graduation rate: 95.0
• Percentage of students in 2013-14 who took an AP class: 31.9
• Percentage of students who qualified for HOPE: 64.79
