The mother of a 2-year-old Texas girl reported missing Sunday was arrested and charged with child endangerment and a false report to a police officer, KXXV reported.
Tiaundra Christon, 21, was arrested early Monday by the College Station Police Department, KBTX reported. Hazana Anderson, 2, has been missing since Sunday morning, KTRK reported.
On its Facebook page, the police department described Hazana as a black female, approximately 3 feet tall and 28 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. The child was last seen wearing an olive green jacket, with a black "girl squad" shirt, cream-colored pants, dark pink shoes and a purple beanie.
Police said Christon had taken Hazana to the park Sunday morning. She told police she went back to her car to get a bottle and when she returned, Hazana was no longer in her stroller. KXXV reported.
Two men fishing at the pond in the park heard Christon’s cries for help and authorities were contacted. Lt. Craig Anderson, a spokesman for the College Station Police Department, said it was not clear if Hazana was strapped into the stroller.
"I just want her back. Wherever she's at, I just want her back," Velt Burns, Hazana's aunt, told KTRK.
Authorities are still looking for the child, and ask that anyone with information to contact the College Station Police Department at (979) 764-3600.
