A Tennessee woman is accused of punching another woman for not returning her kayak, and then trying to walk away from being arrested, the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported.
Joy Lynn Green, 41, of Soddy-Daisy, is charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest in connection with the April 16 incident, according to Hamilton County Court records.
According to court records, Green drove to the woman's house and demanded the return of her kayak, the Times Free Press reported. According to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Green allegedly said the boat had been loaned without permission by a close friend, the newspaper reported.
According to court records, Green allegedly told the woman, "You're going to get my kayak," before punching the victim with a closed fist while holding an identified metal object, the Times Free Press reported.
After leaving the scene, Green was pulled over by deputies and allegedly admitted to hitting the woman. When deputies attempted to arrest Green, she allegedly “balled both fists and pulled her hands to her chest” before turning around to walk away from a deputy, according to court records.
Green was booked into the Hamilton County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bond, the Times Free Press reported.
