Teen fatally shot in Clayton identified

Clayton County police identified the 18-year-old man fatally shot Tuesday night on Clara Drive in Riverdale as Darius Edwards of Atlanta.

Edwards was shot once in the chest, Clayton County Officer Ashanti Marbury told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was transported to a hospital by emergency responders, where he was pronounced dead. She said Thursday that the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.

According to Channel 2 Action News, three teens were playing with a gun when the teen was accidentally shot around 9:30 Tuesday night. The wounded teen’s friends called police, the report said.
