Two women who were trying to avoid arrest by Texas police left an 8-month-old baby in the back seat of their car, the Beaumont Enterprise reported.

Bridgette S. Brown, 33, was arrested for evading arrest, endangering a child and burglary.

Jonae A. Landrio, 21, was arrested for burglary and outstanding traffic warrants, the newspaper reported.

According to Beaumont police, on Sept. 6 Brown and Landrio allegedly threatened a victim with a knife after breaking into the person's home. When police arrived at the scene, the two women fled in a red Buick sedan, the Enterprise reported.

The women abandoned the car and attempted to flee on foot, the newspaper reported. They were caught and arrested. When police returned to the Buick, they found the baby unrestrained in the back of the car, according to the Enterprise.
