The Detroit woman accused of killing a Dalton convenience store clerk during a March robbery will go before a Whitfield County judge later this month for a formal arraignment.

Skyy Raven Marie Mims was arrested March 11 in Bartow County, two days after the stabbing death of 37-year-old Dahyabhai Kalidas Chaudhari inside the Kanku's Express sore on Airport Road in Dalton.

According to investigators, Mims allegedly stabbed Chaudhari before fleeing the store with cash and lottery tickets, leaving the victim to die. A customer called 911 after finding the man on the floor.

Mims was found two days later at a home on Southmont Drive in Bartow County. The 21-year-old woman tried to run from officers, but was captured, Whitfield sheriff’s Capt. Rick Swiney said.

A Whitfield County grand jury in late May indicted Mims on multiple charges, including murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery and burglary. She will be arraigned on those charges July 18 before Whitfield Superior Court Judge Jack Partain.
