Georgia’s tax collections are continuing a steady march upward.

Gov. Nathan Deal’s office said Friday that tax receipts for the month of October totaled $1.46 billion, an increase of about 6 percent compared to the same time last year.

The year-to-date net tax collections totaled almost $6 billion, also an increase of about 6 percent from the same point last year.

The gains were linked to rising individual income tax collections and soaring corporate income tax receipts, which outpaced a 3 percent drop in sales tax compared to the same time last year.
