A Jackson County man faces animal cruelty charges after his dog tested positive for methamphetamine, according to a report in the Athens Banner Herald.

Little Guy, the small terrier-mix was ‘extremely nervous’ and panting and pacing when owner Marty Rogers took the dog to a veterinary clinic in Hoschton on Aug. 17, according to the news story on Wednesday.

After vets discovered meth in the dog’s system, officers then searched Rogers’ home and found a quantity of meth.

Rogers was charged with cruelty to animals and Little Guy was taken away by animal control officers.
