AJC investigation: Hidden history of sex abuse at Ga. boarding school

The largest private boarding school in Georgia tolerated years of sexual misconduct by at least one faculty member, an investigation by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has found.

Seven former students of the Darlington School in Rome told the Journal-Constitution they were molested or propositioned by a teacher between the mid-1970s and the late 1980s.

Darlington took no action on at least three reports accusing the teacher of sexual misconduct, the Journal-Constitution learned. Now, it is looking into the extent of the alleged abuse, as well as its own failures.
