As the vote on the tax bill nears, Americans should know about the bill of goods they are about to be sold. A roundup of editorials Tuesday takes a look at the effects the tax bill will have on the middle class.

Opinions from the left:

1. The Republican tax bill Is an American betrayal

From Vox: What is worse than Americans being bamboozled by their president on tax reform? Watching President Trump’s loyal supporters being taken along for the ride.

2. The tax bill: Not just bad, but corrupt

From The Washington Post: The tax reform bill was written by lobbyists then kept from the light of day. If it is so great, why not give anyone who wants to the time to read the thing?

3. Goodie for Trump oozes out of tax-reform fog

From Bloomberg: Raise your hand if you are a real-estate investor with few employees. Guess what? You get a tax break.
