Early voting in Georgia increased by more than 20 percent over the previous midterm election in 2010, according to a final tally released Monday by the Secretary of State’s Office. The question now is whether voters keep up that pace Tuesday on Election Day.

Voter interest in midterms generally lags, since there is not a presidential ballot. Four years ago, more than 774,000 early voters were among a final turnout of the more than 2.6 million votes cast. This year, however, both the state’s dominant GOP and resurgent Democrats have redoubled their “get out the vote” strategies ahead of tight races for governor and the U.S. Senate.

With Friday’s early-voting deadline passed, here’s the final breakdown:

General Statewide Turnout

Number of ballots cast: 939,136
