Deal names new budget director

Gov. Nathan Deal on Friday named Teresa MacCartney chief financial officer and director of the Office of Planning and Budget.

MacCartney replaces Debbie Dlugolenski Alford, who this week was named president and chief executive officer of the Georgia Lottery.

MacCartney began her career at OPB in 2001, became the senior policy adviser for budget and government affairs at the Georgia Student Finance Commission in 2003 and returned to the budget office in 2005 and was promoted to deputy director in 2010.
