Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders brought his insurgent campaign and populist message to Atlanta on Friday, and wowed a crowd of more than 1,200.

“Whether you know it or not you are now part of a political revolution,” Sanders said after taking the stage to Neil Young’s rock anthem “Rocking in the Free World.” “This is now going to be a loud revolution.”

The Vermont senator spoke for more than an hour and fed an eager crowd applause line after applause line, promising to guarantee pay equity for women, to offer free college tuition and mandate all workers can take paid family and medical leave.

“Let me tell you something that no other candidate for president will tell you and that’s is this campaign is absolutely not just about Bernie Sanders,” he said. “What this campaign is about, which is even more important, is transforming America, as a result of the political revolution that we are going to lead.”

Sanders’ visit comes as new polls show him leading or tied with presumed front-runner Hillary Clinton in key-early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire.
