The man found shot to death Wednesday night outside his south Fulton County home has been identified as the owner of a nearby convenience store and gas station.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim as Hardy Touray, 44, of College Park.
Channel 2 Action News reported that Hardy was the owner of the 2 Rays Mart at Stonewall Tell and Butner roads.
Officers responding to an 11:56 p.m. call of shots fired Wednesday on Hilltop Way found Touray dead in the driveway of his home in a neighborhood off Cascade Palmetto Highway.
While Fulton County police told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Thursday that a motive for the shooting had not been determined, the victim’s brother told Channel 2 that he believes robbery was the motive.
“It’s got to be the work of somebody who knows him at the gas station,” Hassan Touray told the station. “Knowing that he owns a gas station and following him, thinking he’s got money at home.”
Hassan Touray said his brother’s home has been broken into in the past, and he never kept money at home.
