A South Florida woman, who said she was taunted and then attacked outside a nightclub Sunday night, fought back and gave her alleged assailant a black eye when she hit him with her cellphone, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
Henrry Gonzalez-Thomas, 18, of Pompano Beach, was charged with sexual assault and drug possession, WLPG reported.
According to a Broward County Sheriff's arrest report, Gonzalez-Thomas blocked the woman's path to a Deerfield Beach nightclub and repeatedly asked her, "How much," and "How much to get with you," the Sun-Sentinel reported.
When the victim told Gonzalez-Thomas she was not a prostitute and tried to enter the nightclub, the teen allegedly punched her in the face, opening a cut above her right eyebrow, according to the arrest report. Gonzalez-Thomas then allegedly pulled the woman to the ground and tried to pull up her dress, WPLG reported.
However, the woman fought back and hit Gonzalez-Thomas in the face with her cellphone and began kicking him, the television station reported.
After Gonzalez-Thomas allegedly began choking the woman, witnesses came to help and the man ran away, the Sun-Sentinel reported. He was chased down by witnesses and detained until deputies arrived, the newspaper reported.
According to deputies, Gonzalez-Thomas was carrying a baggie holding a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
During a court hearing Monday, Gonzalez-Thomas’ attorney, Assistant Broward Public Defender Hector Romero, told a judge his client was “completely dumbfounded by these allegations,” and claims he was the victim of an attack, the newspaper reported.
Gonzalez-Thomas remains in the Broward County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $11,000.
