Friday the 13th proved to be a Snellville woman’s lucky day with a remarkable lottery win.

Kimberly Cofer, 32, a medical office specialist, told lottery officials she won $50 from an instant ticket, then went to another store where she got her $2.5 million Lucky Loot ticket, according to an announcement by the Georgia Lottery.

“I sent a picture to my mother and sister,” Cofer said in the announcement. “I thought I’d won $2,500. My mom called me. She was out of her mind screaming that I’d won $2.5 million.”

Cofer claimed her multi-million dollar prize Monday from the Georgia Lottery District Office.
