The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying an alleged rapist.

On Tuesday, a woman told investigators she returned to her Paula Drive home around 10 a.m. and found an unknown man inside, the sheriff's office said. The man then allegedly raped the woman before leaving her home on foot, police said.

Deputies were called to the home, but found no signs of forced entry, according to Detective Joshua Shelton. They also searched the area around Paula Drive and Ellison Road.

A GBI artist created a sketch of the suspect based on the victim’s description. The suspect, believed to be in his 30s, was last seen wearing a cap, a hooded sweatshirt, and jogging style pants.

Anybody who recognizes the suspect should call Detective Gunter at 770-716-4814.
