Two people shot Thursday night at a southwest Atlanta home are expected to survive their injuries, police said.

The victims, whose names were not released, claimed they were injured by a drive-by shooter on Beecher Street, Sgt. Greg Lyon with Atlanta police said.

“They were targeted for a reason our investigators are trying to determine,” Lyon told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

One victim was shot in the back and the other in the wrist, Lyon said. Both were alert while being transported to the hospital, he said.

No one was in custody late Thursday.
