Though there were no cameras to capture it, Tanya Monique Peel — the woman who was arrested thanks to a "selfie" — made her first court appearance Friday morning.

Peel, who is out on bond, was told the prosecution needed more time to prepare its case and her next court date will be set at a later time.

Police said Peel used her own name to set up a fake business account at an Atlanta JP Morgan Chase bank. Using that account, police say she bilked more than $100,000 from a man in an identify theft operation.

“Selfies” on her Facebook page matched her with surveillance camera footage of a woman caught withdrawing the stolen $123,000.

Peel, 26, was originally arrested on July 24, and granted a $50,000 bond, said Fulton County spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan. She posted that bond on July 27 and was released.
