A man accused of crashing into a Dunwoody squad car outside the police station last week and nearly striking an officer was taken into custody Tuesday, authorities said.

Dunwoody police said the hit-and-run happened Oct. 27 along Ashford Dunwoody Road in the parking lot of City Hall, where Dunwoody’s Municipal Court, police department and other city services are headquartered.

The driver, identified as 28-year-old Dylan Arnold, struck a patrol car with his 2010 Ford Fusion and “narrowly missed” an officer, police said in a news release. Arnold then fled the scene, the release said.

Arnold is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
