After these inventors gained some fame and fortune for their inventions, they met an unfortunate fate: death by their own creations.

For example, Thomas Andrews—the designer of the S.S. Titanic—was aboard the ship on its maiden voyage. And you know the rest of that tale.

The inventor of the modern newspaper printing press—William Bullock—developed gangrene after the press fell on his foot. He unfortunately did not survive his amputation surgery.
