‘School of Rock’ actor Kevin Clark dies after cycling accident

“School of Rock” actor Kevin Clark, who played drummer Freddy Jones, has died at age 32 after being struck by a vehicle while cycling in Chicago, according to multiple reports.

Clark was hit by a driver as he biked early Wednesday in the Avondale neighborhood, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The actor was struck by a Hyundai Sonata about 1:20 a.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of North Western Avenue, the Sun-Times reported, citing police.

Paramedics found Clark at Logan Boulevard and transported him to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:04 a.m., according to the Chicago Fire Department and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The driver of the car, a 20-year-old woman, was issued citations, the Sun-Times reported.

Clark lived in Lake View East and had played in several bands, his mother told the Sun-Times.

“He’s just a raw talent. He’s got a heart of gold,” Clark’s mom, Allison Clark, told the Sun-Times.
