A South Carolina Department of Corrections officer is facing charges for allegedly smuggling lollipops laced with methamphetamine.

Dana Fisher of Savannah is charged with the distribution of methamphetamine, providing contraband to an inmate and misconduct in office, according to officials.

Fisher, who was fired after her arrest, was a sergeant at Ridgeland Correctional Institution, WACH reported.

The SCDC Office of Investigations and Intelligence released the arrest warrants Tuesday.

WACH disclosed, according to the arrest warrants, a contraband officer at the institution noticed that the wrappers on Blow Pop suckers appeared to have been altered with glue.

After investigating, officials say some of the suckers tested positive for drugs.

Law enforcement is testing other bags of candy Fisher brought into the institution to determine whether they also contain drugs.
