The city of Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department has a new director who is a familiar face.

Morgan Rodgers, who was assistant director of the department for 22 years, took over from 37-year veteran Joe Glover, who retired at the start of November. Rodgers is credited with helping the department achieve gold medal finalist status with the National Recreation and Parks Association for four consecutive years, among other achievements.

The new director also served as recreation superintendent with the Roswell parks system and with the Jekyll Island Authority. He graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Parks Administration.
