Later sunsets and delayed sunrises are just days away as we prepare to spring an hour forward Sunday, March 9. Daylight Saving Time is upon us.

The twice-a-year time jump will begin at 2 a.m. and last until Nov. 2, when clocks will fall back an hour.

If you use a smartphone and it is set to "set automatically" you won't have to do anything. But older clocks, microwaves and other appliances will need their clocks reset before you go to bed Saturday.

One good thing about springing forward: Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will be giving a free doughnut to guests Sunday, as early as 5 a.m. No purchase necessary. Find the closest Krispy Kreme store here.

There's a national petition to end Daylight Savings Time here.
