A truck loaded with propane tanks ignited Monday afternoon in Cobb County, causing 60 tanks to explode, according to the fire department.

Firefighters were called around 2:30 p.m. to Blue Flame Gas on Industry Road in Powder Springs.

“When crews got to the scene, they found heavy fire at the facility along with propane tanks exploding all over the place,” the Cobb fire department said in a social media post.

A video posted by the fire department shows a massive explosion as flames engulfed the truck. No one was injured, fire officials said.

“These crews worked quickly to attack the fire, put themselves in harm’s way to surround and contain this fire which had approximately 140 tanks on board with an estimated 60 having exploded during the firefight,” the fire department said in a news release.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

“The quick action of these firefighters prevented there from being any injuries or fatalities to employees, citizens and first responders,” the fire department said.
