Authorities are searching for the suspect who fatally shot a man in southeast Atlanta Sunday afternoon, police said Monday.

About 3:19 p.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Lindsey Dr. SE. When they arrived at that location, they found an unresponsive man on the bedroom floor, said Officer Kim Jones, a spokeswoman for the Atlanta Police Department. The man, who was not identified, died after being shot in the stomach, according to police.

“The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was in a physical altercation,” Jones said. “Several gun shots were heard by nearby witnesses and the suspect fled the scene before police arrived.”

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477.
