Atlanta police are investigating after a resident stabbed and killed a suspected intruder Saturday.

About 2:20 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a home invasion call on Saville Street in southwest Atlanta, police spokesman Officer John Chafee told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

A resident at the home struggled with the intruder and eventually stabbed him, Chafee said.

The intruder died on the scene while the resident received minor injuries.

The resident has not been charged, and no names were immediately released.
