Police are looking for leads in a brutal home invasion Friday in south Fulton County.

Around 4 a.m., police say several masked men grabbed a woman leaving her home in the 100 block of St. Thomas Court and forced her back inside.

“As she was coming out, they were standing by ready,” Fulton County police spokeswoman Detective Melissa Parker told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “They forced her back into her house and tied her up.”

Then the group of masked men went upstairs in the house, grabbed the man living there and tied him up as well, Parker said.

Police said they beat up the pair and put them separately into the trunks of two of the couple’s three cars.

Parker said the couple was taken to an apartment in Atlanta where they were beat up again.

Later, the victims were led back outside, bound with their heads covered and placed together in the back seat of one of their own vehicles, police said.

“They told them, ‘Don’t move,’ ” Parker said. “Then they left.”

Eventually, Parker said the two were able to free themselves, get back home and contact police.

Police did not provide a motive for the home invasion, and no description was given of the individuals who attacked the couple.

It’s also not clear how many invaders were involved.

Paramedics treated the couple, Parker said.
