A man critically injured in a shooting Tuesday night in southwest Atlanta has died, authorities said.

Atlanta police responded to a home in the 300 block of Atwood Street around 8:20 p.m. and discovered a man inside a vehicle suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, according to a news release. Police announced Wednesday afternoon that the man had died, but did not release further details about the case.

He was identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office as Kamafi Lowe, 25, of Atlanta.

No suspect has been identified and homicide investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The shooting happened just north of the West End district and less than a mile from Morehouse College.
