Clayton County police officers Tuesday were trying to figure out how a 66-year-old Jonesboro man died.

About 5:20 p.m. Monday, officers went to a group home in the 9000 block of Whaleys Lake Lane and found Arthur Pelham of Jonesboro face down in the backyard, Officer Ron Coloma said in an emailed statement.

He had “visible injuries to the left side of his face,” Coloma said.

Pelham was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

No other details were immediately available.
