An Athens woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing her cheating boyfriend during an argument over her refusal to get out of bed and drive him to work.

Randi Marie Houser, 30, instead suggested that her boyfriend “call one of his other women,” according to the Athens Banner-Herald. Houser dropped him off at Athens Regional Medical Center and left.

Houser’s boyfriend first attempted to cover up the assault, telling staff that he had fallen on a piece of glass and had a friend drive him to the hospital, according to the Banner-Herald. After an employee alerted police that a possible assault victim was seeking treatment, police arrived at the hospital and officers went to the couple’s home to question Houser.

The boyfriend changed his story when officers told him that Houser had allegedly confessed to the stabbing, according to the Banner-Herald.

Houser was charged with aggravated assault.
