Dozens of officers were in the stands this morning to watch the son of a slain Griffin police officer graduate from high school.

A week ago today, Hezekiah Jordan's father, Officer Kevin Jordan, was shot and killed outside of a Waffle House while working an off-duty security job in full uniform. A funeral is planned for 2:30 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Williamson.

On Saturday, there was no mourning. Hezekiah, one of the officer's seven children, graduated from Griffin High School, surrounded by his father's brothers and sisters in law enforcement. He wants to be like them, which is why he plans to study criminal justice at Georgia State University, according to Channel 2 Action News.

“Thank you,” Hezekiah said. “They helped the day be a better day.”
