An Arizona man had a ready answer for police when he was accused of stealing a forklift Saturday.

"I wanted it," Dustin Warren Saldana, 21, reportedly told police, KNXV reported.

Phoenix police said they received a call from employees of a business, who reported a man had stolen a forklift, the television station reported.

Workers trailed after the forklift as it was being driven down a Phoenix street until police arrived.

When police confronted Saldana, he allegedly asked, "What took you so long?" KNXV reported.

Saldana was charged with vehicle theft, the television station reported.
