My Style: Leila Regan-Porter

Promotions director Leila Regan-Porter of Decatur loves ’40s and ’50s vintage style with a bit of rock ’n’ roll and a lot of color.

LEILA REGAN-PORTER, 27, is a promotions director. She lives in Decatur.

SIGNATURE STYLE: Classic '40s and '50s vintage with a bit of rock 'n' roll and a lot of color. Her favorite clothes are great pieces handed down to her from her mother or made by herself, "with a lot of help from my mum -- she taught me everything."

Regan-Porter wears a 1950's style A-line dress that she made along with a pair of red Nine West shoes and a vintage Woodward & Lothrop hat. Completing the outfit is a bracelet from J. Crew and a red belt that was purchased in England.

Leila Regan-Porter wears a 1970's style dress that she made from vintage liberty fabric. She accessorizes with peep toe flats by Nicole, a bracelet and earrings from J.Crew and a vintage hat purchased on Etsy.

COLLECTIBLES: Vintage hats and scarves.

FASHION PET PEEVE: When people wear clothes that don't fit or suit them. Why would you wear it if it doesn't make you look your best?

ATLANTA STYLE IS ... "... pretty schizophrenic. While you have some great rock 'n' roll styles being shown off, a lot of folks seem to just lazily follow the trends and not try something new and exciting." Here, Regan-Porter wears a raw silk coat with a 1960's style raw silk indigo dress that she made.

BEST FIND: "A gorgeous raw silk Indian coat at a vintage clothing sidewalk sale at South by Southwest (music festival) in Austin, Texas. Fits me perfectly, has lots of color and it was only $5. A vintage Dior scarf in a bin at a flea market in Asheville for $10."

Regan-Porter accessorizes with a hat from Peter Bettley of London and a pair of blue suede peep toe shoes from Franco Sarto.

BIGGEST SPLURGE: My pink feather fascinator with one huge feather from Harrods, bought for my cousin's wedding.

Leila Regan-Porter wears a Du Barry vintage hat purchased on Etsy with a Banana Republic top. Regan-Porter purchased her vintage Bob Mackie & Ray Aghayan cherry print skirt at a flea market in Austin, Texas.

FAVORITE STORES: J. Crew, Anthropologie, Filene's Basement and the delightful Liberty in London (I'm British by birth.) It's been around for over a hundred years and has the most exquisite collections of everything from bags to jewelry to clothes to apothecary. Not to mention they have a legendary line of fabrics that influence many designers, which I use myself.

WEAKNESS: "Vintage hats: I could spend hours (and lots of money) scouring the stores on Etsy for incredible finds." Here, here large collection of vintage hats include, from left, a fedora style hat purchased at an antique store in South Carolina, a purple pillbox hat, a veiled pink hat with feathers and black hat received through Freecycle.
