BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, GOT THE T-SHIRT--Atlanta Police Officer D. Matteson leaves the Verizon Wireless store at 660 Ponce de Leon at Midtown Place after taking a burglary report Wednesday, Dec. 8th, 2010. The cell phone store across Ponce de Leon Avenue from the old City Hall East building was hit by smash-and-grab burglars early Wednesday for the second time in two days.Thieves made off with two Apple iPads, two HP netbook computers and four smart phones. The store was also hit in May 2009.

A weak dollar is pushing gas prices higher, and Atlanta drivers are feeling the increase with average price of regular unleaded has hit $2.83, up 11 cents from last week. The national average is $2.93, up seven cents. Experts predict gas prices will continue rising.

MIRACLE HORSE--Cheryl Flanagan says "you have to believe in miracles" as she tends to EZ Breeze in his stall decorated for the Christmas season at SavetheHorses.org in Cumming on Wednesday, Dec. 8th, 2010. "You have to believe, he makes it every time", she says. EZ Breeze has had several close calls including having to be rescued from a ditch by a crane and two fire departments.

Officially 2288 participants took part in the 30 minute program to beat the old record of 646 set by the Washington Redskins on September 21, 2010. The attempt was organized to spread awareness and emphasize the benefits of exercise and fight childhood obesity.

SANTA GETS THE JAVA--Getting ready to go out into the frigid weather,Bill Tenny who is also known as Santa Claus came to the Duluth McDonalds Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 to have a cup of coffee, read the paper and warm up before appearing at the nearby Creme de la Cr me early learning center. The Woodstock resident finds himself spread out all over the metro area and north Georgia this time of year doing 12-15 daycare centers a season.

The Chicago native said she traveled home over Thanksgiving and it wasn't as cold as Atlanta has been. Sub-freezing temperatures hit the metro area with a vengeance this week.
