Participants prep by stretching before the audition. The School of American Ballet's 2011 Summer Course study is for intermediate and advanced students, 12-18 years old.

An audition faculty member since 1998, Katrina Killian leads the first group of aspiring ballerinas from metro Atlanta with specific exercises during the School of American Ballet's 2011 Summer Course national audition tour. Killian began her training at SAB in the summer of 1977 and became a member of the New York City Ballet in 1981. She was promoted to Soloist in 1989.

Tuition for the New York City School's prestigious five-week summer program starts at $2,340.
