Breeze is renting a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment. Here's the living room of a model unit at Archstone Decatur Crossing. The great neighbors and the quiet atmosphere are another plus for Breeze. "It's a great family community with a great management team," said Breeze. "They make you feel like more than just a resident." (All interior photos are of a model unit.)

Breeze enjoys the community amenities like the pool and fitness center. There's a grill by the pool and lots of space there so even in the summer when lots of residents are taking advantage of the pool, there's always plenty of room and it feels relaxing," he said. Wi-Fi is available at both the pool and the gym. The business center is also well used with its two computer terminals, fax machine, full-size copier and printers.

"There's a built-in desk which is great because since I'm self-employed, I have a home office and this is so convenient," Breeze said. The walk-in closet in the second bedroom plus a closet on the deck provide lots of storage options.

The apartment Breeze chose has an open floor plan and all new appliances as well as a laundry room with hook-ups for his washer and dryer.

Archstone Decatur Crossing offers one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units.

A cozy dining room area separate from the kitchen is perfect for entertaining.

Two years ago Calvin Breeze, 39, was looking for a new home. He wanted to stay in the same area because he liked the proximity to downtown Decatur and downtown Atlanta and the excellent school system, but he wanted a smaller community that felt more comfortable. Archstone Decatur Crossing off E. Ponce de Leon was the right spot, green and secluded, but within walking distance of the Avondale Estates MARTA train station.
