A person was struck and killed by a train at the East Point MARTA station Sunday morning, officials said.

The victim, identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office as 35-year-old Cavion P. Harris, was on the northbound track at around 6:30 a.m. when the incident occurred, a MARTA spokesperson said. The station and its services were shut down for several hours, and bus transportation was arranged to transfer passengers to a different station as officials investigated.

Services resumed by about 10:40 a.m.

Officials have not released any details about the victim or what led up to the incident.
