Two people were injured, one critically, when they were hit by a car Tuesday morning in DeKalb County, according to police and firefighters.

The two were hit on Clifton Road at Gatewood Road, near Emory University, Capt. Eric Jackson with the DeKalb fire department told Channel 2 Action News.

One person sustained critical injuries and the second was seriously injured, Jackson said. Both people, whose names were not released, were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Investigators were working to determine how the crash happened.
