A man was killed by a tractor-trailer while crossing I-285 on Monday night.

Russel Buckley, 33, of Norfolk, Mass. was crossing I-285 southbound at Cascade Road with a gas can in hand when he was hit by the tractor-trailer at 10 p.m., according to Fulton County spokesman Sgt. Scott McBride.

McBride could not release the name of the tractor-trailer driver at this time, but said there are no charges pending against him.

Police cannot yet say why Buckley was crossing I-285.
