Between 2 a.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. today state troopers were called to 305 storm-related highway crashes in middle and north Georgia that left 36 people hurt but no one dead.

According to the patrol, 51 of those wrecks and four of those injuries were in metro Atlanta.

The State Patrol’s number, however, do not include accidents worked by local police departments and sheriff’s offices.

For example, Wednesday night, a man in his early 20s was found dead in the middle of the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Cobb County. Marietta police suspect he was the victim of a hit-and-run but they are still investigating his death.
