A man currently on parole for a prior burglary conviction is now accused in a Roswell home invasion earlier this month, police said Wednesday.

Robert Earl Foster Jr. was arrested Monday and charged with burglary, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and theft by taking for a home invasion on Oct. 18, Roswell police said.

Investigators believe Foster was staying at an extended-stay motel when he entered the back door of a home on Hembree Grove Overlook wearing a mask and holding a knife, according to police. A struggle took place between a resident of the home and the suspect, who used duct tape to bind the victim before leaving the home.

The resident of the home, whose name was not released, was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

Foster was released from prison in July 2009 after serving nearly two years for a burglary conviction in Cobb County, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. He is currently on parole, records show.
