A 4.0-magnitude earthquake jolted people awake in the Los Angeles area early Monday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey and the immediate reactions on social media.

The quake occurred about 4:45 a.m. local time, about 30 minutes after a 3.3-magnitude earthquake was felt nearby.

There have been multiple small earthquakes in the Los Angeles area this week, including one measuring at 3.4 on Sunday. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
