The playful animals were seen on the Milwaukee River in the city near the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, WISN reported.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said the video taken Feb. 18 is the first documented otter sighting in downtown Milwaukee.

"Recent habitat restoration efforts by a wide variety of partners in Milwaukee County have resulted in increased water quality and increased habitat for fish, frogs and crayfish, all of which are food sources for otter," the agency said.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said it has confirmed sightings of otters in northern Milwaukee County, WISN reported.
