Atlanta police were investigating Sunday morning a deadly double shooting on the 800 block of North Avenue NW.

Authorities said that the shooting took place at about 12:30 a.m., and that both victims are black males — one in his 20s and another in his 50s. As of Sunday morning, their identities had not been released.

Atlanta police spokesman Officer Ralph Woolfolk said that preliminary findings suggested gunshots were exchanged between the two men, but that the investigation was ongoing.

One of the deceased was identified Sunday afternoon as 27-year-old Emmanuel Stanton, Channel 2 Actions News reported. The identity of the other was not released pending notification of next of kin.
