About 50 Clayton County firefighters responded to a fire at a business Friday night, where one person was found dead at the scene, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The fire was reported around 9 p.m. at a building in the 2600 block of Forest Parkway and Moreland. Crews arrived to find the building collapsed and completely engulfed in flames, battalion chief David Vazquez said. Investigators believe the business may have been a mechanic shop due to the tires and cars found at the scene.

The identity of the victim has not been determined, and investigators believe he was burned in an explosion.

Crews battled the fire at the single-story, 7,000-square-foot building for more than four hours before bringing it under control Friday night. Firefighters reported that several acetylene tanks, which are typically used during welding, exploded inside the business, but it is unknown whether those tanks started the fire. There was no evidence of any suspicious activity on Friday, Vazquez told Channel 2.

The fire is still under investigation, which is being assisted by a state fire marshal.
