One killed in southwest Atlanta house fire

One person was killed when a fire ripped through a southwest Atlanta home Sunday evening, according to investigators.

Firefighters arrived shortly after 7 p.m. to find heavy fire and smoke showing from an Oak Drive home, the Atlanta fire department said. After containing the blaze, firefighters located the victim covered by debris.

At approximately 7:15 pm, units responded to Oak Drive SW to a one-story residence with heavy fire and smoke showing. ⁰⁰Firefighters worked to contain the fire and located one deceased victim covered by debris.⁰⁰The cause of the fire is under investigation. #AFRD pic.twitter.com/S6xOzkFu6B

The victim has not yet been identified.
